Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued the “Implementation Plan for the Key Special Project on Digital Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipment ( (Draft for Soliciting Opinions) makes key arrangements for domestically produced digital diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, representing a major new positive development for the medical device industry and poised to elevate domestic digital diagnostic and therapeutic devices to a new level!

The purpose of implementing this special plan is:

Seize the new round of technological opportunities in the health sector to promote the “digitalization, networking, and intelligentization” of the medical device industry, with a focus on early diagnosis, diagnostic imaging, and minimally invasive procedures, and leveraging multimodal molecular imaging, next-generation magnetic resonance imaging systems, advanced computed tomography, and low-dose X-ray. Focusing on ten major strategic products—such as X-ray imaging, next-generation ultrasound imaging, hybrid endoscopes, novel microscopic imaging, large-scale radiotherapy equipment, surgical robots, and active implantable devices—we will strengthen research and development of core components and critical technologies, advance a number of cutting-edge, pioneering initiatives, and coordinate efforts to enhance testing and evaluation, build a standards system, develop application solutions, and conduct demonstration-application assessments. These measures will accelerate the localization and innovative transformation of China’s medical-device sector.
