Chongqing Has Developed a Low-Temperature, Atmospheric-Pressure Plasma Device

Recently, with support from the municipal science and technology project on “Research on Low-Temperature, Atmospheric-Pressure Plasma” organized and implemented by the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Third Military Medical University successfully developed three types of low-temperature, atmospheric-pressure plasma-emitting electrodes—ozone-free high-voltage pulsed electrodes, high-ozone-blocking electrodes, and low-ozone-blocking electrodes—each with distinct functional applications. These electrodes are multifunctional, capable of treating air, water, and surfaces simultaneously. The product features a compact footprint and versatile applications, offering an effective on-site treatment solution that will further enhance China’s capabilities and application standards in this field, thereby contributing to the control of infectious diseases. Moving forward, the Third Military Medical University plans to collaborate with relevant enterprises to actively promote the industrialization of these research outcomes.
