Sterilization methods
Release time:2015-07-29
This method refers to the process of placing articles in a chamber and using saturated high-pressure steam, flowing steam, or superheated water spray to induce denaturation of proteins and nucleic acids within microbial cells, thereby achieving microbial inactivation. However, flowing steam is not capable of completely eliminating bacterial spores and is generally used as an auxiliary sterilization method for heat-sensitive sterile products. In contrast, high-pressure steam sterilization boasts strong sterilizing efficacy and is an effective and widely applied thermal sterilization technique. This method is suitable for sterilizing pharmaceuticals, containers, culture media, sterile garments, rubber stoppers, and other items that remain stable and undamaged under conditions of elevated temperature and humidity. It should be noted that flowing steam cannot fully eradicate bacterial spores and is typically employed as a supplementary sterilization approach for heat-sensitive sterile products.
